3 Reasons to Switch from WordPress to Webflow

Ever have a situation when you thought “Damn, I wish I knew this sooner?” That’s Webflow and your website solutions. Learn about the top 3 reasons why we’ve switched everything over to Webflow…

Regardless of what platform you use for your website, we all understand having a website is important to the success of any business. To give you some background, we have been building websites since 2012 – mainly on WordPress in the beginning, but in Webflow since 2018. We would buy a WordPress template to customize as much as we could on each website we built, then moved onto custom templates, and just kept going down the never-ending rabbit hole of WordPress plugins and updates. I am sure if you have used WordPress for a long time, you’ve run into the issue of updating a plugin, or the site, and then boom it breaks – frustrating I know. Or the situation where your WordPress website has been hacked… ugh. Well I’m not here to sell you on Webflow or to encourage a switch (you can make the decision on your own). I’m just here to share with you our reason for switching, then maybe it can help you figure out if it’s right for you.

REASON 1: NO NEED TO CODE

If you ever wanted to have a fully custom designed website in WordPress, you’re going to be hiring a designer and a developer to build out the website. After a few months, maybe some issues arise and you have to bring on the developer again to debug some issues, or maybe need something redesigned and then developed onto the website – this is a grueling process.

Webflow has created a platform where any designer or marketer or anyone can build custom websites, without any knowledge of coding. That’s right no code. Design your website EXACTLY how you want it with all the details and responsive attributes you need. All you need to know is how to use their platform – which is easy, Webflow literally provides a step-by-step guide on how to utilize the platform in a very interactive video series. On top of the ease of building a Webflow site, you can export the code that you have designed – you can export the code that was automatically generated in case you were to ever move your website away from Webflow.

No coding also means less costs in building a website because you do not need a developer for any reason whatsoever. Crazy, right?!

REASON 2: HOSTING

When building a website, you must be able to host it somewhere so people can see it! But who do you choose? What is going to give you the best speed and security? There are so many different hosting providers for WordPress websites that it’s almost a job within itself to find reliable hosting and maintain your hosting.

REASON 3: MAINTENANCE AND SECURITY

Ever update your WordPress site and hope it doesn’t break? More specifically, update your WordPress site and now your plugins aren’t compatible? This is a major problem with WordPress sites since there are so many independent parties involved. I personally love the community that WordPress has built, but the functionality throughout the community is oftentimes not compatible. This leaves “open windows” for hackers and other parties to infiltrate your WordPress site, causing it to be compromised. You could be housing data you didn’t even know about! Whether it’s your theme, plugins, or whatever it is that is attached to your WordPress site, if it’s not up-to-date or compatible with everything on your site… then your WordPress site is vulnerable to attacks.

Webflow, on the other hand, doesn’t use plug-ins. You want to integrate different forms on your site? Need to optimize your on-page SEO? Maybe you need to build a custom landing page? Webflow can take care of all these things and more with the basic tools that are available with any Webflow site. No need to worry about backups or updates to anything, Webflow takes care of that. No need to worry about security, SSL certificates are provided. All of this is done automatically with Webflow.

Webflow is like the Tesla of websites – completely revolutionizing how the industry is seen and utilized. We’re not saying your success depends on where your website is housed, but we are saying Webflow allows you to build a custom website and makes it easier to manage, maintain, and scale. We have fallen in love with Webflow websites because of how much time, costs, and headaches it has saved us. With fast site speeds, ease of SEO, virtually no server errors, and an array of tools to help you succeed without the complications, Webflow has been our choice of website platform moving forward. At the end of the day, as a business owner, you need to decide if what you’re doing is hurting or growing your business. Spending 10 hours a week to work on your WordPress website to make sure it’s all up-to-date and everything is functioning correctly, is not a battle we think is productive. With Webflow, there is no limit to what you can achieve.
